Sun Country Health Region prides themselves on their vision, mission, and goals. Their mission states that “Sun Country Health Region Authority works together with individuals and communities in partnership to achieve the best possible care, experience and health” (Sun Country Health Region Website). The region also has a number of goals to which the organization values greatly when it comes to how the agency operates in both therapy departments in Weyburn and Estevan. The goals the health region has, which will be covered more in depth later in this report include, “better health, better care, better teams, and better values” (Sun Country Health Region Website). One of the regions goals has a focus on building teamwork, “by valuing staff and creating positive relationships with the employees, the work environment and team work amongst co-workers becomes a positive helping environment” (Director of Therapies, 2016). In addition to the mission statement, by creating better care for patients "employees in the therapies department have clients chose their own goals that they want to achieve in their time spent in therapy, as well as, the therapists themselves having different goals to achieve as a way of doing business with their patients" (Director of Therapies, 2016). The director lastly mentions that "the region/department is always working on improving the health care and the way they do things for not only the patients, but for the employees who work here as well" (Director of Therapies, …show more content…

Without hesitation she exclaimed that "there was a huge need for this type of organization. There is a need for a therapies department because it helps with inpatients in home care at Tatagwa View, and hospitals in both Estevan and Weyburn" (Director of Therapies, 2016). She continues, "this type of organization helps inpatients return home to live a more independent life, or help with WCB and SGI patients return to work from their injuries" (Director of Therapies, 2016). Furthermore, she believes the "importance of this organization is relevant because it helps improve quality of life; helps those who may have had a stroke; a brain injury, as well as, in areas like falls prevention." (Director of Therapies, 2016). As all ready listed above are a brief list of the goals for the region/department. However, going more in depth the goals include:
"1. Better Health: Strengthen Patient-centered Primary Health Care by improving connectivity, access and chronic disease management.
2. Better Care: Transform the Patient Experience through sooner, safer, smarter Surgical Care. Safety Culture: focus on Patient and Staff
