Introduction After graduating from Power Engineering Technology (PETC) and receiving a diploma from Lambton College and acquiring the 4th and 3rd class tickets from Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is when a student becomes a Power Engineer; and the doors to many lucrative job opportunities open up for them. There are many places where a power engineer can work and one of them is Suncor Energy. In this report I will discuss the history of Suncor Energy, some of the products it produces, job opportunities and benefits for power engineers. Together these wind turbines generate 255 megawatts of electricity, which is enough to power about 100,000 Canadian homes (“Wind power,” n.d., para. 4). In other fields, Suncor Energy produces oil, natural gas, high-quality, low sulfur diesel, and ethanol. Suncor Energy also have wind-turbines in all over Canada that has the capacity to produce 255 megawatts of electricity. Suncor Energy also produce bio-fuel, particularly ethanol from corn which is a very good source of renewable energy. Suncor Energy also operate retail gas stations in the U.S. as Phillips 66 and Shell, and in Canada as Petro-Canada (“Bio-fuels,” n.d., para.1). Job Opportunities Suncor Energy's official website explains that it is Canada's fifth largest energy company, and is diverse enough to accommodate an individual's evolving career interests. And encourages it's employees on every step of the way with ongoing training, educational assistance programs and leadership development (“Career development,” n.d., para.1 ). Suncor Energy has close to 13000 employees working for them and still offers many employment opportunities in many professional fields.
