Summary The epic of Sundiata is told by Djeli Mamadou Kouyaté a griot. He tells the story of how Sundiata’s mother made her way to the land of Manden, the story starts at Manden. Manden was ruled by a great king his name was Maghan Konfara, he had power, wealth, dalilu and he as popular, but he had no sons which frustrated him and frustrated all of Manden. One day two Moroccan hunters from Al Ashraf family, Abdu Karimi and Abdu Kassimu, arrive to Manden.

In the beginning of the novel the readers can sense character traits that are different between Erik Fisher and Paul Fisher.
The characters Mona and The narrator from “White Umbrella” by Gish Jen; have common sense, honesty, and confidence. The characters are different but the same. They are both asian and come from the same parents. They both play the piano and are very good at it. They are also different but that will be explained in the next paragraphs.
For this essay, I have chosen to write about an important character. The character that I will be using is the main character of the film Irena Sendler. Irena was just your everyday average Social Worker, but she was a very brave person, she had the set image of the perfect role model that a lot of people couldn’t be like. Irena became the role model of thousands of people when her life was played out in a play called ‘Life in a Jar’. It was about Irena herself saving 2,500 Jewish children from their death by the German soldiers.

Sogolon Kedjou is a powerful character in the epic first and foremost because she conceives and births Sundiata, the founder of the Mali Empire. Her most important role is that of a mother, which can be problematic when discussing the importance and influence of women in the epic because it emphasizes fertility and the female body over the female mind and internal powers beyond conception. With regards to the importance of conception and fertility in women, there is a consistent theme of male ownership over females throughout the epic. It should be noted however that Sogolon represents a strong female character that is arguably responsible for the creation of a great empire. For without Sogolon and her great powers, Sundiata would not exist
Girl Scouts are usually associated with boxed cookies, sweet smiling faces, and iron-on badges but the troop led by Arentta has their own reputation. They have a never ending feud with troop 909 and their own misguided minds. Arnetta hold the reigns in the group with her over the top personality and stubborn opinions. She establishes dominance and aggressiveness in order to compensate for her own internal weaknesses with confidence and self-esteem.
In the play Raisin in the Sun written by Lorraine Hansberry takes place on the southside of Chicago where Walter and his family are racially profiled and show us how the survive throughout their struggles. The central struggles for the younger family in their search for the American dream is mostly poverty and being racially profiled against for their actions. Hansberry challenges the traditional gender roles and issues of dominance throughout the play when Mama gives Walter lee the rest of the money at the end of the play. He becomes all excited and was supposed to save some for himself and put the rest of the money to Beneatha 's education. Instead, he gave all that money to Willy another character in the play which later on that he stole from him.
Ite was extremely conscious of her beauty and began to neglect taking care of her children's welfare. The Sun god thought she was beautiful and invited her to sit with him at a feast, despite him being married to the Moon goddess. All The Light We Cannot See The one good thing about the struggles that you go through in life is that the best and worst of you is revealed. Changes in a person’s political structure, abilities, health, and family relations, can bring out the best in them by forcing them to adapt to their new conditions. The impacts could result in a person to be more ethical, dedicated, brave, or even selfish. The true version of them can be revealed whether it be good or bad.
Although Sassouma Béréte plays the role of the antagonist (one of) in this epic she is considered as “politically ambitious” and a “despised wife” who contravenes the social norms of Mande society. She is also likened that of a strong woman who plays major role in her son’s successions to the throne (due to Sogolon fleeing w/Sundiata). In the Epic of Sundiata one could make the observation that women were not held in the same regards as men, and were treated as unequal. Women were allowed very few rights as the timing of which the story takes place would depict and their roles as illustrated were to men of higher authority, who controlled their women with whom they were in relations with.
“Two Kinds,” by Amy Tan, essentially revolves around the struggle of Jing Mei and her constant conflict with her mother. Throughout her life, she is forced into living a life that is not hers, but rather her mom’s vision of a perfect child; because her mother lost everything, which included her parents and kids, so her only hope was through Jing Mei. Jing Mei’s mom watches TV shows such as the Ed Sullivan Show, which gives her inspiration that her daughter should be like the people and actors. First her mom saw how on the television a three-year-old boy can name all the capitals of the states and foreign countries and would even pronounce it correctly. Her mom would quiz Jing Mei on capitals of certain places, only to discover that
