Nurses risked a lot to be in the war and were in fact a very essential part of the war.

Quote: “Here is the story of courageous young women who served at Pearl Harbor, Corregidor, Anzio, Battle of the Bulge, Iwo Jima, and other fighting fronts of the Second World War.” page # 1 This quote supports/is evidence of the theme because it says that the women who served were courageous which means they knew that there was a risk of getting injured or killed but still decided to be apart of the war.

They could’ve stayed in their comfortable homes in safety but instead they decided to get involved and put themselves at risk like true heroes.

Combat Nurses of World War 2 is a collection of stories about nurses around the world.This story is told in third person omniscient. It tells the stories of many nurses around the world. Sometimes the narrator tells you how the nurses felt. Each chapter takes place in a different place with a different set of nurses.

I learned that even women were super important in the war. A lot of women were injured in the war. Many flew miles from their homeland to help soldiers that would get hurt. Even though the nurses were supposed to be relatively safe many hospital centers were “accidentally” bombed by Japan. I also learned that it doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman, you can still fight for your country. I think it is important to learn that people shouldn’t be segregated by gender and each person should have equal rights. I think nurses in World War 2 were some of the greatest heroes in that
