A world class professional surfer named Rick “Frosty” Hesson, who has surfed the biggest waves on the planet once said, “If you're having a bad day, catch a wave.” Surfing can be stress relieving, fun, or even competitive. At times surfing can be very dangerous, from surf spots getting too crowded, polluted waters, or drowning. Human nature is underhanded. The tides are always changing, new sets are forming, and the undertow is contemporary. Swells come in from the the Gulf of Mexico the surf community is the first to hear about it. Surfers in the Los Angeles County are rushing to get to the beaches so they can get some good sets. There is probably 20-25 surfers per beach, at most 100. The problem with that is, there are too many people in the water which makes it hard to catch waves, and if you happen to catch some nice waves you would be battling to stay on the wave with the other surfers. Cutting people off or “snaking” them could lead to surf rage also known as surfers fighting or yelling at each other. The surf community said the ocean we surf in was polluted so we decided to change that. The locals surfers even got Elon Musk involved making a prototype to help end this problem. The ocean keeps getting dirtier and dirtier, and these two guys from Long Beach have found a new way to fix this pollution problem “Let’s talk about the ocean for a second, as of 2015 it was estimated that there are 5.25trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean” ( Collective Evolution 2). This quote describes how polluted our ocean is. 5.25 trillion is way too big of a number and that's not safe for the animals, humans, and most importantly our ecosystem. I think these two guys are going to make a big difference in the surf community, and it will have a good
