In the Hunger Games many certain skills and qualities are needed to win the games, and those skills and qualities are present with me. Those important skills and qualities that I possess will ensure my victory in the Hunger Games. My unique skill set includes: quick wit; skill in make-shift weaponry and traps; and my much loved personality. It is essential in the hunger games to be able to think on the spot and come up with a plan to keep your allies and yourself alive, and with my quick wit I can stay alive. By using my natural wit I am able to think of battle strategies and I am also able to stay one step ahead of the enemies at all times.

The Hunger Games (published in 2008) is a novel by Suzanne Collins, who successfully identifies how and individual’s autonomy can be affected. The theme of authority impacting one’s individuality in explored carefully through the eyes of Katniss Everdeen. The role of the government definitely controls an individual’s freedom, limiting their autonomy and not allowing them to do whatever they desire, the government has the ability to control any individual’s autonomy as they ranked highest in social class in society. Being poor can also affect one’s autonomy as they are limited of their freedom due to issues involving finance, they are unable to do as they like due to their poverty and social rank in society.
The Hunger Games: A Modern Day Odyssey? The Hunger Games is about a civilization that randomly selects two members from the different districts. Those two members are then forced to fight in an “arena” in which there is only one victor. In a way the Hunger Games is very similar to the Odyssey. The Odyssey begins years after the Trojan War has ended and Odysseus has not returned home.
“The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins is a suspenseful and frightening story about a 16 year old girl, Katniss everdeen who is born into a small village called District 12. The capitol, which controls the districts hosts an annual Hunger Games each and every year. Two tributes, a boy and a girl from each district are chosen between the ages of 12-18 to compete against 22 other tributes, but only one can win. Katniss is not chosen, but her younger sister Prim is chosen at only 12 years old. Katniss volunteers in Prim 's place and is now in the hunger games.
In the Hunger Games series, a dystopian future is set up. The government of Panem, The Capitol, holds the wealth of Panem giving it the power to control all districts. In order to enforce this theory, they created the Hunger Games. They suppressed the rights of the citizen’s of Panem and selected their children in order to fight each other do death for survival. These games were created to scare the people and show them who was in charge.
In conclusion, poverty and freedom are the most common form of social/political issues that can be seen in real world that are very well documented in the novel Scored and in the film The Hunger Games. There is an interconnection between freedom and poverty. If there is freedom, it means that the government is taking action to keep people happy and because of that, there is less poverty. This is usually not the case. Most governments try to get the best out of its citizens and leave little for them and this causes poverty.
An unknown person once said, “When we read books, we don’t fall in love with the character’s appearances. We fall in love with their thoughts, their words, and their actions. We fall in love with their souls.” In the dystopian novel, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, this is exactly what happens, Katniss moves the readers by having such characteristic and skills to be able to survive. Katniss’s characteristics, of being caring, having a determined personality, and her intelligence in survival skills, all help support the theme of Katniss being able to survive.
While Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a novel based on a society that problems occur from inequality and differences, focuses on the survival and which the main character Katniss stands out as a leader, and The Giver by Lois Lowry is a novel based on a society that problems occur from being too perfect and same, focuses on the importance of memory and past and which the main character Jonas stands out as a rebel for himself and very few people; both texts share similarities such as being dystopian novels which symbols used and one teenager stands out from a society and rebels. Katniss Everdeen is the epitome of this theme; her disposition luckily possesses all of the attributes needed to survive. Katniss displays the theme of survival because she is resourceful, has integrity, and has perseverance. One trait of Katniss's that helps project the story's theme of survival is her resourcefulness.
Theme # 1- No matter what tyrannical environment you live in, your identity can never be changed The Hunger Games focuses on the theme of identity and how it is immutable in any tyrannical environment. This tells the audience that no one can take away your identity and it can only be controlled by you. In the movie, 24 tributes are forced to enter a game where they kill each other in order to survive which led them to losing their identity and becoming pawns to entertain the people of the Capitol.

While in the games all twenty-four tributes must fight to the death to entertain their Capital city.
The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins tells a story about a girl whose bravery changed the way people thought about their world. The three grueling challenges that the main character, Katniss Everdeen, had faced show what I believe to be challenging. The first challenge that I have chosen was when Katniss had to provide for her family by hunting in the woods for food. My second challenge that I have chosen was when Katniss and Rue began to form a bond during the games. My third challenge that I have chosen was when Katniss offered the Nightlock berries to Peeta.

One theme in this story that is shown is that family love can go along way, this is shown because she is very overprotective of Prim.
