In the previous paragraph, we understand that the psychological problems trafficking causes can be just as devastating as the physical problems. When people discuss human trafficking, they often are confused as to why the victim didn’t just leave or tell someone. It is an accepted notion that majority of sexually exploited women have a degree of freedom; they are allowed to walk about the streets, allowed to contact “John’s”, and communicate with other women in the same business. However, what people often lack to understand the serious psychological grip that many traffickers have on their victims. In Theresa’s case, she had legitimate reason to believe that her family’s well-being would be in jeopardy if she refused to work or left the Chaldeans.
Furthermore, exploited individuals may be subjected to a wide range of trauma- specific counseling that is aimed at helping victims rebuild their self-esteem, regain empowerment and reconnection with themselves and society. Health care professionals also states that victims must be offered very sensitive outreach with allows them to gain helpful access to mental health services, safe houses and other helpful tools that will assist them in developing their reforming skills to get back in touch with themselves again (Ross, Dimitrova, Howard, Dewey, Zimmerman & Oram, 2015). Most survivors do regain their psychological well-being and heal physically with the assistance and access to much needed resources or assistance from for victims. Additionally, the various needs of victims of human trafficking can create and provide extensive challenges for health care providers trying to assist and help victims with collaborative services.
(WHO, 2004) states that CSA is silent health emergency that goes undetected. It is extremely under-reported and poorly managed. Most CSA incidents are perpetrated within the confines of a home by someone known and trusted by the victim. This is the main reason why CSA is shrouded in secrecy. It is estimated that approximately 30% are related to the victim, for example, fathers, brothers and uncles while strangers make up 10% (Whelan, 2007)

Many people have heard of human trafficking, yet many people just turn a blind eye to the issue. In a sense that if it is out of sight it is out of mind. Which is why we need a response team for the individuals who are able to move past these experiences and make it out on top. They need help as well as support. The problem is many of the victims of sex trafficking are stuck and do not know how to get out.
Paragraph 1 Human trafficking is one of the most disgusting things someone can do to another person. enslaving someone else against their will and is against the law but so this damn human trafficking still goes on .The third largest criminal industry through slaves is human trafficking. Sex Trafficking is a form of modern day slavery that exists throughout the United States and globally. It is one of the biggest lies in society (Farley et., 2014). The Vanderbilt Law Review indicates that the majority of prostitutes do not enter the prostitution lifestyle on their own free will choice, but instead becomes a prostitute due to a variety of vulnerabilities that both pimps and traffickers exploit. This explains why young women get blindsided and think they are becoming a prostitute when in reality they are a sex trafficking victim (Elrod 2015). When the United States made prostitution illegal, it did not change the mentality of the johns.

The delegate of the United States is fully aware of increasing number of migrant workers in the Middle East working in forced labor situation for very low wages. It creates high rates of migrant workers to be exposed to prostitution and human trafficking. Traffickers trap their victims by coercion, force, or fraud and often lure desperate young women with the promise of a better paying job or higher education into a destination country where their documentation and passports are forcibly taken from them as soon as they arrive. Prostitution in the Middle East is because prostitution thrives there. The religious outlawing of extramarital sex reinforces this trade and consequently further bolsters the demand for prostitution.
The legal and non-legal responses to the contemporary issue of human trafficking and slavery (HTS) are effective to a certain extent, but is increasingly being questioned. Human trafficking (HT) is the commercial trade or trafficking in human beings for the purpose of some form of slavery, usually involving recruiting, transporting or obtaining a person by force, coercion or deceptive means. Slavery involves a form of forced or bonded labour, with or without pay, under threat of violence. The United Nations (UN) outlines the ban on slavery and torture under Articles 3 and 4 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), stating that “no one shall be held in slavery or servitude or be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading
Human trafficking is a figure of transnational organized crime and a serious infringement of basic human civil liberties. The fight against human trafficking is the joint responsibility of the global community and joint efforts must be strengthen by further developing the close cooperation that already exists between governments and nongovernmental organizations (U.S. DOT & CBP 2013). Concentrating efforts towards bordering countries is paramount in the fight against human trafficking. A prime example is U.S. Senator John McCain and Congresswoman Martha McSally from Arizona presented to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives the Transnational Criminal Organization Illicit Spotter Prevention and Elimination Act.
Human trafficking produces billions of dollars in profit every year, it is right behind drug trafficking as the most lucrative form of crime throughout the world. (DHS website). Victims of human trafficking rarely come forward due to the threats of murder, threats of killing their loved ones/friends, as well as having nowhere else to go because they have been ostracized from their own family and their “pimp” is their family. Another issue of why victims do not come forward is that they are afraid of law enforcement so they may go to jail, etc. (DHS website)
