Susurros de Mi arrabal is literarily a fiction/generational history fiction story book written with the purpose to entertain, educate future generations and probably help Puertorricans enjoy a little bit of their own cultural traits, language, ethnic, folklore, music, perhaps food and most important of all, their Love and their life. Every country has changes and challenges related to their generation, the economy, politics etc.; as well as ethnical traits, their idiosyncrasy, their religious beliefs, food and most important of all Puerto Rico has a very powerful and strong spirit. This spirit has kept us growing, educated, in faith and kind throughout the years. The Puerto Rico presented in this short story is a one of its class. This is the Island I was born in and the island I Love. The island home of my family, my flourished loves, mi inspirations, my poems, short stories and my life. “Susurros de Mi arrabal” is the way I feel about my own self. To this date this ingredient is still a big part of me. When I can bring it up to life, to the present those are the happiest momentums of my life. I have never allowed it to go away. I will never fail to show it. That is why Mi Arrabal is always present whispering within myself. The reason this book is called “Susurros de Mi arrabal” I was raised mostly by my mother, Moraima, who taught me the most important strong lessons in life a human being should be able to learn; principles, Faith, education and morale. All other I learned by myself. We all do. I was born on December 30, 1956 in the capital city of San Juan. My Mother had three beautiful children, Gilberto Ramón born on 1950 and Jose Alfredo born during 1954.
