I am currently studying the SWAP Access to Humanities course at Glasgow Clyde College, a daunting but exciting experience for me. I think the course is intensive, but the subjects do intrigue me. The units I study are Psychology, History, Modern Studies, Sociology, Communication, Mathematics, Philosophy and Information Technology. The study of the SWAP programme has allowed me to have a wider picture and understanding of our world and its problems but also to see those from different perspectives. The importance of dedication towards the achieve of a dream can be tough but is a real example of how determined I am. Moreover, this course it has allowed me to think introspectively about the abilities and qualities I possess and how to apply them in life to improve my future career prospects. One of my earliest memories is that of being fascinated with my very first trip to London, UK. I was so impressed by everything around me and besides from discovering a new culture and an outsider perspective of my culture at such an early age (16), the idea of living abroad was like a dream I had since I can remember. My first job in Scotland was being a waiter in which I got quickly promoted within a year due to the effort I put improving my English as thanks to my communication skills to a point that I became Assistant Manager. This promotion gave myself the boost I just needed to keep me growing. That's when I realise any hard work and effort you put into something will always pay off. Studying a different language has opened so many doors and opportunities for me and improved my decision-making
