I’m not very surprised that they became friends because Taylor Swift makes it seem like she wants to be friends with everyone. They made it publicly known that they had become friends because they were talking about collaborating on Taylor Swift’s latest album, 1989, but that never ended up happening. It became widely known that they had become close when Swift presented West with the Video Vanguard Award in 2015 at the VMA’s. (Dibdin) This was ironic because the VMA’s is where Kanye interrupted Taylor and told the world that Beyoncé should have won. The feud began again when Kanye West released his new song, Famous. I think this became the final straw for Taylor Swift because she was completely thrown into the spotlight in a bad way. The lyrics of Kanye’s song were, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous."
