Lululemon is recognized as one of Canada’s fastest growing brands. As of 2016, there are 48 stores located across Canada and a total of 354 stores worldwide (Statista, 2016). Their vision was to create a place where people could buy products while also immersing themselves in a community of likeminded individuals who value health living, mindfulness and living a life of possibility. The goal for Lululemon is to expand their product and community vision into the country of Russia. We wish to build upon the recent growth in yoga services and work to continue to bring the people together in practice. The country shares borders with a total of fourteen different countries such as China, Finland, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. It also borders two large bodies of water: the Arctic and North Pacific Ocean. Due to the vast land size, the climate varies significantly depending on location. From humidity in the southern steppes, large areas of flat unforested grassland, to subarctic in Siberia and tundra climate in the North. Winter temperatures range from cool along the Black Sea coast to frigid in Siberia and summers are warm in the steppes to cool along the Arctic Coast. Not only is Russia’s climate widely varied, but so is its terrain. There are broad plains with low hills to the west of Urals, vast coniferous forest and tundra in Siberia and, mountains along the southern border regions. Russia has a wide natural resource base including major deposits of oil, natural gas and coal. Their population is heavily concentrated in the westernmost fifth of the country, extending from the Baltic Sea, south to the Caspian Sea, and eastward parallel to the Kazakh border. Additionally, there are large isolated pockets of the population that can be found in the Southern regions. Over three quarters (77.7%) of the population is Russian.
