The pearl of the world is a symbol of hope in the book The Pearl by John Steinbeck. The book is about Kino finding the pearl of the world and with this pearl he sees a better future for himself and his family. But when the people heard about the pearl of the world they knew they needed to get the pearl and get the wealth instead. So the people started to assault Kino and his family to try and get the pearl. Thus the pearl of the world affects Kino by bringing trouble to him and his family.

The first reason why the pearl of the world affected Kino is that people were starting to attack him. The first time he was attacked was when in the corner of the house Kino heard a noise in which he got stabbed in the breast, He tried to fight back but it was gone. According to the text “Kino was only half conscious he shook his head from side to side his shirt torn open and his clothes half pulled off” (John Steinbeck 61). This text states that the second time the Attackers tried to pull his clothes off to try and get the pearl. When Kino was on this trip he saw that there were trackers following him for the pearl while the tracker set up camp Kino had an idea to attack the trackers So kino went out to attack the tracker who keeping out watch But then Coyotito started to cry which woke up one of the trackers. According to the text, “if it a coyote, this will stop it, the watcher said as he raised his gun Kino was in mid-leap when the gun crashed and the barrel-flash made a picture on his eyes” (John Steinbeck 86). This text states that when the trackers heard Coyotito cry He took his gun out and shot in that direction But afterward Kino didn’t take this very well So kino killed all three of them.
