Whenever you’re in the car jamming out to your favorite song, do you ever think of it as a poem? Do you ever stop and realize that the song you are listening to has a lot of the same elements as “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe? Well it does, throughout poems and songs there is symbolism, imagery, and there is always a thesis statement. Because of all of the similarities, songs are a type of poem.
