“You fancy me mad.” The Tell Tale Heart written by Edgar Allen Poe is about a man who loses his mind. The main character kills someone he loves and ends up being haunted by his action. Throughout Tell Tale Heart, Poe uses symbolism, foreshadowing, and imagery. Symbolism can be shown in “Tell Tale Heart” by many different ways, an example is the old man's eye. The man’s eye symbolism the narrator's mental state because it shows that the narrator is scared of it and will do anything to get rid of it. which can show that the narrator doesn’t accept his “inner demons.” The bed and bedroom in this poem symbolisms the opposite of what they really are. We are most vulnerable in bed, and we sleep well when we feel safe in our bedrooms.The
