In the book Bridge to Terabithia, the bridge symbolizes a lot to Jesse and how his life has changed. To begin with, Jesse wanted to honor Leslie by building a bridge to symbolize their everlasting friendship. In addition, the building of the bridge not only shows that the magic was never in the rope nor was it Leslie, but has always been the heart of a person determined to find Terabithia.
