Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado” struck me as a dark-humored murder story with an astounding plot paired with an appropriate setting and motive. The reason that I will remember this story for years to come is because of the relatable theme of revenge and because of the ironic symbolism that’s spread throughout; it’s a great story that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys classic murder-revenge stories.
