“The Drummer Boy of Shiloh” is a Historical Fiction by Ray Bradbury. Though the author Ray Bradbury is usually known for writing science fiction this story about a boy named Joby,it is a very good story that has symbolism throughout it. Today I will be addressing some of the symbols used by the author. Joby is a bo who plays the drum that night before the Civil War in Joby that started 4/6/1862 more than 23,000 soldiers died in those 2 days. The drum is one of the symbols that would represent Joby. The drum sounds like a heartbeat when the beat is steady it sounds like a heart whenever it’s at peace which is positive.In the other hand when the drum plays fast itll represent a heart whenever it has fear or is scared. Joby is most
