Essentially a rose is a flower that symbolizes love and portrayed as beautiful with an elegant smell. but, they also are prickly flowers. In the story a “Rose for Emily” by William Parker we learned that the character Miss Emily has died. “when Miss Emily Grierson died, our whole town went to her funeral”(Kelly, 155). Kelly, was deeply admired by the community she was a “monument”. As the story continues she was also looked at by the town as a very cold, very different who lived her past. After purchasing the poison people speculated that she was using it to kill herself.
