Masks reveal ourself true self through a different form as different features reveal different characteristics. Masks have been used widely through various cultures; as theatrical masks are used to hide one’s identity and disguise in Greek civilization to facilitate playing different and multiples personages, or mask used by the Iroquois Indians in (religious) rituals to cure diseases, or masks used as a funerary masks to honor the disease similar to the ancient Egyptian civilization. Other masks, such as hunting masks, were used to symbolize strength, or used to communicate with nature. Masks can symbolize certain dominant traits, features, ancestry, or imagination. The Majlion (ماجليون) is a mask that expresses my independence, kindness, and open-mindedness. The Majlion contains my name, which was given to me by my grandmother, a woman I truly admire and strive to be.
