The picture from the book symbolizes Guy Montag while he was burning books. Guy is taking a brief break from burning books. The second picture is a Fahrenheit 451 cover from one of the previous books that were published and released.

When you are able to find patterns in a long story it could help you understand it. During Fahrenheit 451 a phoenix was mentioned in comparison to the burned down city. I realized the phoenix was a symbol for Montag’s “reawakening” within himself. Without knowing the symbol, I wouldn’t have completely grasped the meaning of the book.

In the novel Fahrenheit 451, there are several symbols that represent different things; these symbols include fire, the phoenix, and the hearth and the salamander. Fire is a very important symbol in the novel Fahrenheit 451. As the title of the story is Fahrenheit 451 , that is the temperature that paper catches fire and burns (Lenhoff). This evidence suggests that fire is very dangerous.
In the book Fahrenheit 451, we meet an interesting character called Montag. This character’s occupation is firefighter. His sole purpose in the society is to insure the happiness and in turn does it to burn books. An unorthodox occupation it seems, however, throughout the story, imagery of animals is used continuously to symbolize characters in the society. Montag is characterized as a phoenix, an ancient mythical bird that dies and is reborn again from the ashes.

The main character Montag is a fireman who lives with his wife Mildred. Montag ends up stealing books which is against the law especially because he is a fireman; and Mildred is against anything that has to do with books. Society wants everyone to be happy but there 's an alarming mechanical hound in this novel that kills people and is asymbol of fear. Bradbury’s novel shows how a society overcomes the eradication of books through the use of symbolism, motif, and imagery.
She exemplifies Christ along her journey when she stops under a mistletoe tree; the same type of tree in which the cross was made. The thorns she encounters also relate to Christ’s death on the cross, the crown of thorns he wears on his head. The journey she takes to get her grandson’s medicine, is considered to be an example of self-sacrifice. Phoenix gives others the opportunity to help her and accomplish good things. One example is when the hunter helps her out of the ditch.
