I watched one concert on Youtube and it called “Symphony No.9 in D Minor Op.125” by Ludwig van Beethoven, who is a Germany composer. This composition composed between 1822 and 1824. Its genre is a choral symphony and it was from the Classical Period. Beethoven's 9th symphony is the greatest musical masterpiece in the history. It was first performed in Vienna on May 7, 1824. Then later on May 7, 2015, Riccardo Muti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus celebrate the anniversary of Beethoven ’s greatest composition. By the time Beethoven composed this masterpiece, he could not hear the music but he heard every note in his mind and in his heart as he put them on paper. Also, the tempo of the 4th movement truly helps me savor all the complexity and can listen to every single note of the piece. After the 4th movement is the Ode to Joy, the movement starts with the instruments, and then the chorus comes in. The Schiller's poem “Ode to Joy” inspired Beethoven to write this astonishing piece of music for people to listen. In fact, I noticed that many times orchestras play Beethoven much slower than he intended; however, it can help the audience easily to hear all the symphony. As a matter of fact, I’m not a fan of classical music, but for the pieces, the melody is peaceful and tender, overwhelming. When I first hear the melody, I fall in love with the music, but what fun is that I have never like this type of music before. The way that Riccardo Muti conducts an orchestra and a chorus was incredible amazing since those two sounds remarkable together.
