While advertising makes the consumer buy more and spend torturous amounts of money, the purchaser is capable of better understanding the reason that they are purchasing a certain product by getting informed about current occurrences. Advertising has been around for centuries and it would be difficult to eliminate due to the fact that they are an enormous part of other industries such as the magazine industry. The great appeal that advertising brings to society today is incomparable to what another source would be attempting to achieve because it has its distinct form of gathering an audience. This allows for consumers to be well informed of effects of an opponent product. "These ads tell us that milk makes our bones strong...Advertising is teaching pure and simple" (Source C). This excerpt not only gives an example of a time when a consumer may be informed but it also justifies the fact that people are capable of learning distinct features from other battlegrounds. The fact that advertising is being claimed for teaching is concerning because education is being given daily throughout our lives even if individuals are not in school. However, there is a high percentage possibility that this is most effective because advertising indeed has a tactic of connecting with a variety of crowds and denominations. "Teens establish buying habits...'Reach for a girl in her 'seventeen' years and she will be yours for life'" (Source D).
