College should be a national right for all students in the U.S. Students in the U.S are suffering greatly due to the high mountains of student debt they are receiving. In the United States, the student loan debt is 1.75 trillion dollars and the average graduate in 2019 owed 28,950 dollars in college loans. It is growing into an issue that can not be ignored due to these debts affecting several groups of students across the United States. College should be tuition free for students.

The way students are taught and how skills are developed into a greater strength will benefit the economic, social, and cultural development of the U.S. It is important to understand how students with future college credentials can achieve to shape and contribute benefits to our society, “They contributed to society with high levels of volunteering, voting, and charitable giving,” (Source 1). According to Source 1, “The beneficiaries of the free tuition contributed to the economy by buying cars and homes, and getting jobs after college, while not being burdened by college debt.” These benefits that students who attended college in 1944 received, shows how free tuition can create a positive impact during and after college. Students did not have to worry about the large college debt that is normally carried on after college. They were able to focus solely on their academic work and the basic necessities required after college. Homes, cars, and owning a stable job after college should be the only main concern and goals on the minds of college graduates. Several people are capable of facing college head on and open a pathway full of opportunities and success. These pathways however are blocked by mountains of stress, worry, and anxiety due to the crippling student debt. Not only is that true, but not being able to afford college is a harsh reality some may have to face. Dreams, goals, and success are crushed due to students not being able to afford college. Unfortunately students are not all given the fair chance to attend college, “Students from low- and moderate- income families are unable to afford as many as 95% of American Colleges,” (Source 1). This only shows how unfair it can be for young bright students who are ready to make a change and participate in our society. Not being able to attend college due to not possessing enough income to support themselves and their academic life, shows how much college really costs. Basic necessities should also be brought into the picture because it is an important aspect for a student to succeed in college. It is another big cost that students must afford. It is important to understand that the high percentage of colleges that aren’t available for low and moderate income families is absurd and should be an issue that should hold more awareness and attention from our society. Others may think that although students will be given free tuition, they won’t actually be student debt
