In Canada one can think about the idea of something being at risk. This could be anything from the county to our own health. Although when talking about species at risk it is understood that this would have to do with animals. In this case if nothing is done to help and conserve the at risk kind then it is most likely going to go extinct. This notion can be seen in the article written by Tina Loo “Species at Risk” where she gives a twist on species at risk and says that it is the Canadian historian.
In the op-ed piece “A Change of Heart about Animals”, Jeremy Rifkin emphasizes the similarities between humans and animals by providing results on scientific research studies to illustrate that humans should be more empathetic towards animals. In addition, he further explains how research results have changed the ways humans perceived animals and indicates solutions that were taken by other countries and organizations to help improve and protect animal rights. Rifkin provides examples that demonstrate animals have emotions, conceptual abilities, self awareness, and a sense of individualism just like humans. Aileen Wuornos became one of the most famous female serial murderers in the United States history for killing six men on Florida highways. Later she was caught and convicted for her crimes and was eventually executed by the state. To begin with, her upbringing as a child involved abandonment from her mother, and physical and emotional abuse from her grandparents. Under those circumstances, the lack of unconditional love and care from her parents and grandparents caused her to become associated in the crimes she committed. At an early age Aileen was involved with numerous crimes including, theft, and armed robbery.
Wild Paragraph Three Overcoming adversity requires acceptance that things must change and the determination to do so. Once that adversity has been overcome the feeling of accomplishment is even greater than imagined. In the book Wild, by Cheryl Strayed, Strayed had been hiking for awhile and realized that she started to run out of water and started to get really dehydrated. Her guide book said that there was water nearby but she didn't know if it was close enough to make it to before she might die of dehydration. She started to reflect on her accomplishments and said, “In spite and because of its hardships and I’d gotten myself into this place on my own two feet” (Strayed 195).
However, some people are taking the lead to undo the wrong. Majestic wildlife such as elephants is dying because of human’s virulent weapon; greed. This cruelty was demonstrated in Zimbabwe and showed the world frightening results

The book Ishmael talks about how our society came to be and more importantly how our culture came to be. “With gorilla gone will there be hope for man?” as said in Ishmael asks a serious question.
A long time ago, animals played a huge role in people’s lives. For example, they would rely on animals for the things they needed, such as food, clothing, and transportation. People back then acted differently. In some societies people would worship animals as gods. At least, 12 - 14,000 years ago, people realized that if they took a baby wolf, they could train it, and it would be friendly when the wolf was full grown.
Andy Warhol once said, “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself”. Change is affected by time and by people in different ways. A negative change can ultimately have a positive outcome. Change is not always bad, but in order for it to be good you need to make it good. Change occurs all the time, and it happens to everyone at one point in his or her life.
The fictional book Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, is about Mr. Jones’ farm of animals who rebel against him and make their own society. Although equal at first, the pigs slowly create a peerless government due to the malleable minds of the rest of the animals. I the end, the pigs have broken all of their originally set commandments and begin to act as humans at the dismay of all of the other previously equal animals. Three topics addressed in this amazing book are anthropomorphism, foreshadowing, and motif. To start, the first topic, anthropomorphism, is used the entire book, as the animals are the main characters.
Is Enkidu’s life better before or after he leaves animal life and enters the human world? In the story Gilgamesh translated by N. K. Sandars, Gilgamesh is the main character and the king of Uruk. The gods think he is too powerful, so they make is equal and name him Enkidu. The gods let Enkidu loose in the forest, and he lives among the animals for most of his life. He is like a wild beast until a harlot comes along and seduces him.
Attention Getter: Imagine living on the streets, constantly looking for your next meal and never knowing the feeling of companionship. This is the life of stray animals. Credibility Statement: No one really knows how many stray animals roam the streets, but it is predicted that there are more than 70 million stray cats in the United States alone. Central Idea (Proposition): By adopting pets from the American Humane Society or other rescue shelters, we can reduce the amount of stray animals on the streets.
Some of the animals were known as their partners such as dogs which were sometimes used to pull loads and equipment. In return they were fed and taken care of. Other animals were dangerous to humans and humans made sure they protected themselves from them such as the mammoth, and the saber-toothed cats. Dogs sometimes protected humans from other animals. Humans usually protected themselves from those animals by hunting them.
In Hawaii, feral cats are considered nuisances. Often, they wander into yards and areas they are unwanted, such as parks or yards. They hunt our natural wildlife, especially rare species of native Hawaiian birds. Despite the harm they cause, feral cats are in danger themselves. Putting down these animals is inhumane, yet for the wildlife’s safety and the feral cats’ own, it is imperative for their populations to decline.
The role of animals in story telling forms a bond between the viewers and character that can be stronger than the human cast. Animals not only gave information but also portray their personality in a given narrative. Sometimes they are wearing a cover of characteristics which is not directly related to their natural portrayal but still manages to effect human animal relationship i.e Anthropomorphism. Anthropomorphism is an interpretation of what is not human or personal in terms of human or personal characteristics (Merriam Webster). The showing or treating of animals, gods or objects as if they are human in appearance, character or behaviour.
Many of the animals tried to take advantage of this situation by siding with the animals with more power. By showing the
