“Where You Enter as a Student and Leave as a Professional”
I have been interested in 16th National Annual TMCF Leadership Institute (LI) since first learning about TMCF. LI is an exceptional four-day program from November 18-22, 2016. It is held in the Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20009. This conference prepares eligible handpicked students from the 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to compete in modern day’s very demanding and competitive global workforce.
The anticipated experience will give me personal insight into my unique leadership style. I will learn how my leadership style impacts others as well as my school/workplace as a whole, through highly collaborative consultations and advice.
My first goal is to learn how to reach my peak potential as a leader. I have lead groups before and spoken at ceremonies, but there is more to leadership than just that. I plan to gain a deep understanding of my leadership strengths and areas for improvement through formal assessments. I expect to clearly understand my leadership effectiveness from TMCF and other corporation coaching (for example resumes; different corporations require different formatting) and feedback during the program. I will finally create a strong action plan to help improve my leadership performance.

I think I would be a good candidate for many reasons. I am self-motivated and keenly aware of my goals and I always apply strategies necessary to achieve them. I immerse myself in my studies, make certain I meet my deadlines and always go beyond the required.
