Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial arts and way of living. The way of Tai Chi has been in China for over a thousand years and many believe it may have been originated as early as the eight century. There are several different styles, or forms, of Tai Chi that have been created over the years, and there are still some being made today. That is why Tai Chi is not only a way an exercise, which benefits your body in many different ways; it is also a way of life the many people around the world have taken to following. When Tai Chi was first created many people believed it was a waste of time that did not do much for your body. This was because these sceptics believed that people were moving too slow in Tai Chi to get any use out of it. This belief was thought to be true until the twelfth century. By this point in time people saw that Tai Chi the slow movements in Tai Chi lead to better balance and accuracy when striking. Although, one may not get super-human abilities like Zhang Shanfeng thought it does have many health benefits. Some of the health benefits that can be given credit to Tai Chi are, better joint movement, a loss in weight, increase in flexibility, and a decrease in blood pressure. In fact Tai Chi is so good for the body and easy on the joints, it is recommended by many professionals that people of an older age do Tai Chi. Tai Chi is also easy to do anywhere. To do Tai Chi you don’t need any weights, pull-up bars, or running area, you just need enough room to stretch; you can even do it in your house. Some studies have even shown that Tai Chi even makes you happier. This is probably because when doing Tai Chi you are creating more harmony with in your body.
