Take Me There, by Susanne Colasanti is a romance story told from three different perspectives. Rhiannon is heartbroken when her boyfriend Steve breaks up with her. She can either go back to Danny, her loving ex or take a chance and try to find love with a teacher, Mr. Farrel. She does not seem to realize, how dating an adult when you are in high school is weird. She fantasizes about walking through the halls with Mr. Farrel and hanging out with him and the other teachers.
James is a very good friend and he was my favorite character in the novel. Even though he is in love with Rhiannon, he still supports her through the Steve drama and helps her attempt to get him back even though it kills him inside. James is the friend I wish I had, the one who puts his friends needs and desires before his own. I enjoyed Take me There because I could relate to the characters. I could relate to liking someone but you don’t want them to know. I could also relate to trying to hide things from your friend to help them. I could relate to the horrible feeling of seeing the person you like, flirting with someone else. I would recommend this book to anyone between the ages of 13-17 because it is well told and the character are relatable. Though, younger kids may not relate to the characters and the struggles of love and friendship as
