Taking A Closer Look At The Top Preparing Film Industry

Every year a new set of actors and actresses emerge as the top actors of the year. Many of these actors come from top grossing movies of the year. For example, in 2016 all top ten actors/actresses of the year came from five top grossing films of the year. Those top films in order of increased grossing were, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Suicide Squad, Deadpool, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Captain America: Civil War (Guerrasio). This pattern is also seen amongst the top grossing actors of 2010, but the number of actors per top grossing movie decreased. In 2010, seven out of the top ten grossing actors were in top grossing films. A popular and familiar actor is more likely to make more earnings than a trendy new actor simply because there is an already established relationship between us and the familiar actor. Actors who also are considered to have great skills end up on the top grossing list because we admire to watch actors that are genuine. We admire actors that have the skill to portray characters realistically because we like to relate to the characters. The more realistic the actors can be the more we watch because they remind us of ourselves. This idea also explains why we watch actors who are influential because not only do we want them to be like ourselves; we want them to be a little better so that we can look up to them. We like to have people to look up to because they motivate and inspire us. This is especially true for parents because they want their children to have positive role models to look up to that are realistic. We as a society love familiar and skilled actors because they play their roles successful enough that we can relate to them and they play characters that we can look up to as role
