In the last few decades, companies have began to realize the importance of diversifying their workforce and expanding into the global market. Diversity in the workforce helps improve productivity by promoting a variety of different perspectives. This variety helps with problem-solving and innovation within the company. Similarly, expanding into the global market helps companies gain access to new talent and resources. One company that has exhibited both of these characteristics is Comcast. Comcast has increased its workforce diversification and has expanded into other parts of the world. By expanding into the global market, Comcast is able to cater to more customers and have access to more talent. Comcast has domestic offices all throughout the United States of America with their headquarters being in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Comcast has no international offices but, being a conglomerate, its many subsidiaries have international offices. Comcast recently acquired Sky Group, a media company that services many European countries, which has its headquarters in London, United Kingdom. Comcast is engaged in the global economy with their plethora of subsidiaries, including the aforementioned Sky Group, BlueFace, Telemundo, AZN Television. They are able to expand their global outreach by acquiring these companies. Telemundo and AZN Television allow Comcast to reach Spanish customers and Asian customers respectively. In relation to their competitors, Comcast is seemingly behind the ball when it comes to corporate offices. Both AT&T and Verizon have international corporate offices. They provide entertainment to countries like Mexico, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, and many more. However, when taking subsidiaries into consideration, Comcast is once again on-par with its competitors. In the last five years, this global dependency has had some negative impacts. With COVID-19, many of Comcast’s subsidiaries were negatively impacted. In the beginning, Comcast’s movie subsidiaries were not able to have actors on set and therefore had to suspend filming. Similarly, Comcast’s television news branches had to adapt to the changing times. This also affected many of the sports that were broadcasted by Sky Group and Telemundo, including Formula 1 and FIFA
