Continuity and culture can often be the key successor of a family business. While continuity and culture can be the key competitive advantage for a family business, it is also the reason for failure in many businesses. The difference in or lack of values, beliefs, vision, rules, and expectations throughout a company are largely known to be the main downfall of a family business. Often communication or lack of upon family members and the advisory board are the most difficult issues for a family business to tackle. In the business plan, the family businesses visions, goals, and expectations should be included. These are components must be made clear in the business plan so that every one from top to bottom in the business is working collaboratively to reach the same goals and objectives. CEO Mrs. Vilbon and Glory industries has truly done a great job of creating a high level of continuity and positive culture throughout its advisory board and 42 employees. The main objective of Glory industries is to produce quality toilet paper and other hygienic paper products to the 40% of the Haiti Country that can not afford these products. Glory also strives to contribute to the development of the Haitian Economy, and reduce the high unemployment rate in Haiti. These objectives are the heart and soul of Glory Industries. Mrs. Vilbon researched this startup for 8 years so that she could meet these objectives. As Mrs. Vilbon is a very passionate CEO, she passed down her positive characteristics to her daughter Natalie and son Daniel Olivier Kroh. Daniele Oliver is the floor manger of Glory Industries. Daniel helps a lot with production and has many responsibilities in the business as his future plans are to become even more involved with the company his mother built. Daniel is a part of the advisory board along side her sister and Mom. Even though there are non-family members on the board, CEO Vilbon plans to keep ownership in the family. As a successful CEO Mrs. VIlbon knows that often bringing in outside help can often be rather beneficial to the success of the family business. Glory Industries CFO is a non-family member that brings a lot of experience to the business.
