is one of the most recognized and successful multi-national corporations in the world, they still face cross cultural issues. NIKE has employees in North America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa which can make it very difficult for NIKE managers. Nike's specific Corporate Social Responsibility statement that they publish to the outside world is sustainability. Their goal is help their customers to thrive in a sustainable economy where everything is in balance (people, profit, and planet). They do this by practicing sustainability in everything they do like design, rethinking processes, etc. NIKE also uses material on their products that are made of recycled materials in order to protect the environment. NIKE has also developed the "Reuse-A-Shoe program" which takes used footwear and makes playground surfaces out of it. NIKE's ethics include respecting your coworkers, safety, health, and environment. Again this all goes back to their sweatshop incident in 1991. They were accused of paying their employees less than minimum wage and working too many hours in Indonesia. They responded to this situation by creating the Fair Labor Association which promised to pay their employees minimum wage, only 60-hour work week, and improve working conditions. Since then, Nike has continued to post its commitments, standards, and audit data as a part of its corporate social responsibility
