“The tale of Lord Zancrist” by April Patterson Clemens is a plot-driven fictional story set in a farm where the main character Peach Blossom is born, The author seems to know her way around the setting as she spent her childhood playing in the Texas woods, When I picked up the book I predicted that the story will be dramatic adventure which I love.
The book tells the story of a little girl, who got Kidnapped into slavery and then encounters a strange man who changes her idea about who she is, the unfortunate accidents turn out to be an adventure on her way to self discovery.
The main character in the story is Peach Blossom, she’s a playful, lighthearted girl. She grew up on a farm and named after the budding tree in their garden.

They seemed quite satisfied with their condition, they grew familiar with it, they were full of the terrifying outside world, and The lady that took them , seems quite interesting and sad.
“” Such is the evil of despair, it robs us of our power, or even the knowledge that we have any! The man who can die with a whistle on his lips, hasn’t in the end been defeated!
But despair takes away the awareness that we even have such things as lips with which to whistle””

My favorite character is Peach Blossom, I think she was very interesting and credible, she reminded me of the little girl “ Marry Lennox” from the “ secret garden”
I liked the book, the author’s language was very descriptive, and the story is well written.
The characters are unique, well developed, and the tone is fairly steady, the twists unfold revealing new interesting facts about the characters, which kept me on the edge of my seat, wanting to know more about the characters backgrounds and what will happen next. If you like adventure fiction, then go for it.
I’m giving the tale of Lord Zancrist 3 out of 4 stars, I liked the book and enjoyed reading it, but a couple of time I was distracted by the Suodain foreign phrases, even though the author explained some of them, I though it was unnecessary
