The book called Uglies is about a girl named Tally, who lives in a futuristic society, where, when everyone turns 16 then turn pretty, however she meets a girl named Shay who turns her world upside down. Throughout this book Tally exhibits multiple changes in her personality and character traits, from the beginning of the book to the end of the book. Some character traits that Tally had in the beginning of the book is friendly, and foolish. Near the middle of the book Tally shows that she is selfish and confused. At the end of the book Tally shows that she is brave and sorry.

The first character traits that Tally shows in the novel is friendly and foolish. Tally is foolish and friendly at the beginning of the book based on her actions from Garbo mansion to the prank with Shay, on the new pretties. We see that Tally is foolish when she goes up to where her friend, who was turned pretty, is staying. This is foolish because, first if she got caught out that late at night she would have been in trouble, and second if she got caught in the mansion she would have gotten into even worse trouble.
