The assessment, the task sheet and marking rubric specifically demonstrates content validity as the selected three content descriptors and elaborations are incorporated and assessed in the task sheet and marking rubric. The three content descriptors and elaborations used, align with the Australian Curriculum for year 5 History (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, 2015). Students are given the task to choose an individual or group that had a significant impact on an Australian colony in the 1800’s. Students develop questions to guide their investigation for their chosen individual or group, which they will be using before, during and after their inquiry. This is included in both the task sheet and marking rubric, however the addition of the appropriate chose of individual or group, recording of the guiding questions, the designated time limit between 2 -3 minutes (Queensland Studies Authority, 2015), and the way the presentation is developed is also included within the marking rubric. This has been mentioned in the task sheet on page two of the mark breakdown. So, although these components are in the task sheet and rubric they are not mentioned in the content description or elaboration of what is required. The task sheet and rubric is easy to understand for other teachers who may use it for assessment. This demonstrates Inter- related reliability (maden, 2016b) where more than one person can use this assessment task to achieve the same result allowing for fair and consistent marking for all
