My Sit Down With Tate Lindemann
Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down with Tate Lindemann for an interview about his life. We chatted about his high school career, his love for track, and the artifact he brought with him. I came into the interview thinking that it was going to be the typical jock story, but it was like a slap to the face when he started unveiling his past.
I asked Tate if he could use one word to describe his high school career, and his response was that he would choose the word fun. Tate was a very social guy in high school. He had a large amount of friends, and was considered one of the popular guys. He was the guy that sat in the back of the classroom and would make jokes with the classmates next to him. He did not take class very seriously, and that is his biggest regret of high school. He wishes that he would have studied more, since he is not able to attend the college of his dreams due to his grades. He took out an expensive pair of Beats headphones out of his pocket. The looked very preserved, and the color of the headphones was a vivid shade of red. I was confused to why that was a personal artifact to him. It was not until he began telling the story behind the headphones, that I understood why they were so special to him. The pair of Beats headphones were given to him by his best friend before he passed away. His friend was always there for him, and they did almost everything together. They would hang out almost every day, and both ran track together. The passing of his friend affected him deeply.
