Initially, my primary goal was to complete undergrad and start a medical program right after. However, towards my last year in undergrad I begin to feel that pursing a medical degree is not want I wanted to do right after I graduated, instead I wanted to teach. I was drawn to pursue STEM education as a career choice because the opportunity to have a significant impact on students excites me. The older I get the more I’ve learned the importance of student’s having influential educators in their lives. Also, after reflecting on my experience in school, I’ve learned that some of my pervious teachers has played a huge role on the avid learner that I am now, and my developed interest in science. For that reason, I made it a priority to continue to learn different teaching strategies that will help me communicate clear objective and learning goals to my perspective students. As well as a commitment to help students develop into self-regulated learners, form healthy identities, learn how to make strategic choices, and learn how to collaborate with their peers. …show more content…

Also, after graduating college I landed a job as a lead pre-k teacher which was my first time managing my own classroom, and the first time that I collaborated with other teachers, in order to provide 5 and 6 years old with the proper curriculum they needed to succeed in kindergarten and first grade.
