While reading chapter two there are several key points that are given quite the explanation and time, to really characterize what it means to be a teacher. For instance, when the chapter talked about why teachers choose this profession, it was important to get several educators opinions on why they wanted to become teachers in the first place. This is key because it allows us to view upon other teacher’s reflection and really causes us to ask ourselves why we want to become teachers. It was refreshing to learn their experiences and sort of connect them to our experiences growing up and sort of developing the motivation to one day teach students of our own. Another, was the issue with teacher burnout, we must find ways to cope with our stress and never forget why we are in this profession. I know sometimes we lose the drive to really keep fighting or really forget where we are in life, but we must learn to deal with it and keep trying to help our students reach their full potential. Hidden curriculum is really vital as well and although it is not officially in the school curriculum we must remember that communication, school culture and the way we act everyday while teaching really has the potential to reach students in better ways. If you come to school with passion and excitement and really try to be an example for them they can follow, they will learn from you and perhaps things will change for the
