My philosophy is constantly evolving as I grow as a teacher. As I continue to learn, along with my students, I try to remain open-minded and willing to grow as a teacher. As society and best practices continue to be molded and shaped, I too will be like clay and continue to mold myself to be the best version I can be for my kids.
For me, the most important part of teaching children is caring; our children are the future of this world. It all begins with caring for children and what becomes of them, because when I care, they care. In caring, we have to remember that every child is different. They have different needs and wants, weaknesses and strengths, beliefs and values, as well as goals. I believe every child has the potential to bring something special to the world. In a classroom, you have to remember that every child is different. This means that instruction must be individualized to students in order to provide challenges and support to build on and develop positive attitudes about learning. My goal is to create children who are life-long learners and creative thinkers. I want to teach them to make good choices, work cooperatively, and most importantly to be kind and responsible. My role as a teacher is to give children the tools to grow their knowledge. In order to do so, I will make sure to create engaging material through the use of themes, hands-on learning, integrated units, games and by using technology to create active learners. All lessons created will be relevant to students, whether this is creating content tied to their favorite song or just tying the material to their lives. All materials and lessons planned will strive to move children toward being caring, active members of society who thrive. By doing these things, I hope that each of my children will love coming to school each
