I have always wanted to be a teacher. I think I would be a good teacher because I love kids and I am patient. Although teaching can be hard and stressful sometimes I think it’s the right occupation for me.
Teachers have many responsibilities. They must maintain order in the classroom, respond to parents’ concerns, plan lessons, teach students, grade and work with the principal and other faculty. To maintain order in the classroom, teachers must quiet students when they are loud, address students who misbehave and monitor kids while they work. They respond to parents’ concerns by meeting with them, making phone calls or sending an email. If parents have concerns they will contact the teacher or the teacher will contact the parents if they have any concerns or their grades start to fall behind. Teachers also plan what the students do for the day, plan assignments, activities, games and projects. (BLS.Gov) Of course as a teacher they would teach the students. They teach about 20-30 students with different learning styles, levels of intelligence and attention spans with computers, internet, textbooks, workbooks, magazines, newspapers, art, posters, charts, projects, music, science, experiments, contests and role playing. Teachers with more years of experience have higher wages. Teachers with less than 1 year of experience earn about $38,827, teachers with 1-4 years of experience earn about $39,827 per year, teachers with 5-9 years of experience earn about $44,331 per year, teachers with 10-19 years of experience earn about $50,604 per year and teachers with 20 or more years of experience earn about $58,812 per year.
