In my opinion, an outstanding teacher and role model must have an ambition for promoting a child’s learning, which is one quality I feel I hold. Teaching is not just an option or just a job, it's a privilege I wish to pursue for the rest of my career. My own positive experience at primary school has played a significant role in sparking my initial interest in becoming a primary school teacher, therefore I wish to inspire children in the same way some of my best teachers inspired me. I am fully aware and understand the commitment needed to embark on a career in primary teaching, and this has been a key motivator to complete my current course and secure my place at your University.

Working in primary schools along with part-time employment at ‘Explore Learning’ proves my ongoing commitment to education in my local community. I have found that the rewarding aspects of teaching are infinite both at work and at placement. I have had the opportunity to study children through a longitudinal study, observing and supporting them develop their communication and language and physical skills. This securely underpins my knowledge of the EYFS and understanding of a developing curriculum. I currently have 196.5 hours of experience in primary schools, shadowing teachers and running group activities, along with assisting and motivating children during lessons. I have developed certain transferable skills which will be beneficial to both University and my career.
