I have known since I was in the second grade that I wanted to be a teacher. All my dolls and stuffed animals were subjected to school every evening and weekend. When my brother was old enough to sit up, he became my student, too. Throughout various career days over the years, my interest in becoming a teacher has never wavered. I am patient and kind and advocate for those with needs. I work hard with anyone that is also willing to work hard. I surface as a leader in group projects, a far cry from the little girl who struggled to read. When I reached middle school I realized that you could teach singular subjects. He was despised by many, because he assigned a lot of work and really made people think instead of just memorizing facts. He is who really sealed the deal on my decision. Mentally, I have been ready for colleges classes for a long time. I have a deep desire to know more and explore more. I have just started to get the ball rolling. I look to expand that opportunity.
