This assignment will provide a critical account of collaborative working (thereafter CW) and its impact on service user experiences (thereafter SUE). Teams are necessary in the healthcare field because teams are necessary for the delivery of quality health care services and for a successful healthcare organization (Rubino, Esparza, & Chassiakos, 2014). Rubino et. al (2014) also mentions another important reason why teams are necessary, which is because there is no one who possess all the skills needed. Therefore, teams are necessary to bring required skills together to contribute to the purpose of forming the team. In addition, various professions are within the healthcare field and these multidisciplinary teams are essential to healthcare organization as they are why organizations can provide high quality services.
Working with those value systems should cause a reduction in failures of service-user safety. Two years after the implementation of the 6C’s it was found that there were improvements in service-user satisfaction and communication (NHS England, 2014). Kalisch et al, 2007 found that efficient group work saw increased levels of job satisfaction, service-user satisfaction, quality of care and most importantly service-user safety. The delivery of safe care relies heavily on effective team working (Despins, 2009).
For some jobs you would need teamwork skills to get your tasks done in time. In my placement at Vellore Woods Density most of the time we need to use teamwork skills because we are handling with people’s teeth and need to communicate with each other on what we need such as equipment’s. Patients are sometimes hard to keep them calm when they are all worked up or simply really nervous. We would try to reassure them, and tell them things would work out well. I learned a trick from my co-workers that if you keep calm, the patients will keep calm as well.

I guess now looking back in the past when I was a kid I never realized how valuable teamwork is in soccer. Looking back I almost never played like I was on a team.
