Something that might have made people want to fight on in World War 2 was a lust to test new technological advances. By looking at some of the technology in world war 2, including radar, Enigma machines, and the use of aircraft carriers one can say the technology was indeed magnificent sights to behold. Radar application brought to World War II to a new level. How the country, of Britain applied the technology to help them was especially crucial. During the war scientist found dozens of ways to use radar at the time ( “Radar during World War 2”) .The success of the scr-270, which was a radar based system made the United States of America able to detect the bombers that hit Pearl Harbor(“Radar during World War 2”). Only the British were making radar the backbone to their defense in 1935 (Buderi) Most of their air, and naval forces were equipped with radar and each of the aircrafts could detect things up to 10 meter which was pretty revolutionary at the time. In the war the Germans used it in mostly the naval part of their army (Unravelling the Enigma). In 1939 before Poland was overrun, their military already had a grasp on how the machine worked. By 1940 the British were regularly deciphering the encrypted messages revealing mostly locations of Germans U-Boats that they could take down themselves, but it was increasingly growing harder and harder to crack (Unravelling the Enigma).
