Ted Bundy 9 U.S. History- Period 6 Mr. Karasek March 15, 2024. Ted Bundy is known to be one of the most prolific serial killers in American history. Bundy confessed to killing thirty women from the years 1974 to 1978. Most of Bundy’s victims were college students, however, he did murder as young as twelve years old. He committed these acts of terror in the states of Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, and Florida. Bundy was knowledgeable, charming, and skillful, which allowed him to get away with these horrific acts for so long. Yang and DaRonch Bundy’s actions were nothing but horrendous. Bundy used strangulation and bludgeoning to murder his victims. This was because he had charisma, and women were naturally drawn to him. Many women did not believe he would be capable of performing such horrendous acts. When news channels in the mid-’70s would interview women out on the street asking if they felt as though Ted Bundy was a threat to them, many women were reported stating that he looked like a nice guy, and they did not feel as though he was a threat to them. Some people believe that the world glorifies Ted Bundy because of how they portray him. However, it is very important to understand that in 1974 when women in the Seattle area started disappearing, the first person to have suspicion about Bundy’s actions was his girlfriend at the time, Elizabeth Khloepfer. Khloepfer went to the police secretly, due to the description of a man and a car similar to that of Bundy. The police considered this information, however, they did not think Bundy was behind the murders.
