The world isn’t perfect, and there are problems everywhere. Who will help to solve them? This is where teen activists come in. Teen activism is when teens go out of their way and take their time to create changes in the world. Both teen activists and the society around them benefit from their work. Students participate in the community, and the environment is made into a better place. Teen activists are caring and persistent, which means that they never give up. First and foremost, teen activism is important because it helps the environment and the people who live in it. Teen activists can step up to feed the hungry or to save the environment, which will encourage others to do so too. They take a problem and brainstorm ways to fix it as a community. A teen activist speaks up for those who don’t have a voice so that everyone can be heard. Not only does teen activism benefit the people who are being helped, but it also benefits the activists themselves. Malala is a Pakistani girl who loves learning. At the age of ten, the Taliban came and shut down all schools for girls in Malala’s county. Malala spoke out against the Taliban, and was shot on October 9, 2012. After surviving, she continued to fight for girls rights even though there were still dangers. She doesn’t speak only for Pakistan, but for girls all over the world. During Malala’s interview with “The Daily Show” she specifically states, “I don't want to be thought of as the "girl who was shot by the Taliban" but the "girl who fought for education." This is the cause to which I want to devote my life.” Malala never gives up, and dedicates her life to make differences to help others. She cares for the girls of the world, and she is their voice.
