The documentary, Merchants of cool, describes an evolving relationship between the vast teenage population and corporate America. The film provides an in-depth look at the marketing strategies and communication between these groups. Adolescents are shown as learners and adapters of the fast-paced world; they’re constantly exposed to fashions and trends. Youth culture can pertain to interests in styles, music, clothes and sports. It also pertains to behaviours, beliefs, and vocabulary; this refers to the ways that teenagers conduct their lives. The concept behind youth culture is that adolescents are a subculture with norms, morals, behaviours and values that differ from the main culture of older generations within society. For instance, young men and women, teenagers in this case, are mostly represented as unpredictable and not easy to understand. In the film, Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters (2004), adolescents are represented as bullies, who use manipulation to achieve what they want and are two-faced with the people around them; they are constantly stereotyped as a high social group like the plastics and a low social group like the mathletes; also they are presented as young people that fall under peer pressure, and are overly concerned about their appearance and about being socially accepted.

Many people believe that the younger you are, the more close-minded that you tend to be. It is by the will of our parents to teach common values, and what is morally right from wrong. I agree with you Amanda and great points. The show 16 and Pregnant is a good example as well as Teen Moms. In both TV shows it shows teenager and their life stories after having a baby. The show can go two ways such as: making people realize how hard it is to raise a child or how happy the couples can be as a family. Nowadays people feel as babies are a blessing, but when I was in 4th grades, teens was ashamed to walk around pregnant.
Two is that banning it only increases demand. Finally three is the violence. Now on to my first paragraph. Too much for teenagers is overated but this mom from North Carolina some how it’s not. I say this because in this story I read it said she said the “ Invisable Man” is too much for teenagers.
