“Devin raised his right arm and focused directly over his wrist. It took less than a millisecond to calculate the trajectory---he didn’t have a built-in computer, but 220 IQ served him well”(Patterson 3). In the beginning of the book, this person has a sniper grafted into his arm and is supposed to take out its targets. While this is happening the one bird kid falls down to save the other bird kid from getting hit, but Devin misses the main target and hits the flying dog. What ends up happening is devin kills himself because he was a suicide sniper(kills his target then kills himself to not be in trouble). Teens should be allowed to read MAX because in the book it teaches how to take care of family in situations, It’s important to defend ourselves in life,, and relationships can create problems in life that needs work to get passed. Firstly, MAX should be able to be read by teens because it teaches how to take care of a family. For example, “I’m staying.’ Had I heard her right? Nudge was always on my team…’What?’ I said, my mind reeling. ‘I want to be normal. I want to be like the other kids. I’m tired of being a freak and having to run all the time and never being able to settle down. I want a home. And I know how to get one.’...’What?’ I asked again. ‘If I don’t have wings.’...’Nudge you come with wings’(patterson 82). Nudge wants a home but the flock is always on the run from scientists who want to do terrible things to them. They never have time to just rest and relax. With a home they won’t be on the run but will be easy to track them and take them. By keep moving they are on the run and are harder to track.
