Tell-Tale Heart Have you read the short story called “Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe, the narrator in the short story killed an old man in the story because of his eye. So is he a murderer or a mentally disabled person? Should he go to prison or a mental hospital? The narrator is a killer/murderer and should go to prison because he killed the old man on his own will, after that he tried so hard to hide the evidence , then he felt guilty about it when he heard a heartbeat which he thought that he it belonged to the old man. First reason is that the narrator killed the old man in his right mind and on his own will. “ Whenever it feel upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees- Very gradually- I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever.” This supports murder because it says he made up his mind to take the old man’s life and planed it all out, so it was his choice and he chose to kill the old man and so he should go to prison for that murderous choice. I cut off the head and the arms and the legs.” This proves the narrator should go to prison because he cut off the head, arms, and legs and hid just so he doesn't get caught. That is what a murderer would do to hide the evidence. After he dismembered the corpse he then hid it under the floorboard then sat on a chair which was on top of it when the people came
