Jones began coaching at Tennessee in 2013. His overall record at Tennessee has been 34- 24. This record may not sound bad but it is worse than you look into it barely any SEC games were won. Most of the wins were against small cupcake schools like Austin Peay or won in bowl games against non SEC conference teams. The year Butch Jones was building up to Brick By Brick did not go so well at all. It ended with a big loss in the SEC East and an embarrassing loss to Vanderbilt. Tennessee should never lose to Vanderbilt. In the Volunteers 2012 season coach Derek Dooley took a loss to Vanderbilt and was fired shortly after. They should have fired Butch after his loss to the Commodores , but no they decided to keep him for another year of disappointment. Butch Jones’s 2017 season was a joke resulting in zero SEC conference wins and a non surprising record of 4-8. This was not much a surprise to Vol fans who realized from the start coach Jones was not meant for Division 1 football. All though firing Jones and his staff could cost up to 14 million dollars it would be the best choice for Tennessee Football. This is where the people of Knoxville that care so dearly about Tennessee football come into play. Many local fans have started non-profit Go Fund Me’s. These pages were created to help the University of Tennessee raise money to pay the buyout of Butch Jones and his staff.
