From his childhood till his death, he led an interesting life not necessarily filled with action but filled with peculiarities. Tennessee was a New York born man, but his personality was built from that of many states and ideas that were fed to him. Tennessee Williams had an unnatural upbringing in his time, which led to a unique style of writing that garnered him long-lived fame and a lifetime of achievements. This literary agent, Audrey Wood, would be one of the best decisions Williams would ever make, creating a long-lived work relationship that lasted for 20 years (“Boyd, Sally”). After Williams’ work looked grim because his ideas weren’t in the norm or all that popular, his agent struck a contract for Williams as a Hollywood playwright for a salary of $250 a week to fund his career. However, if Williams could not work on his own projects, he would put very little work into plays made by others. This caused all his office mates to tell him to stay away and just draw his check. Tom kept writing scripts for movies, but with less than acceptable reactions they were constantly declined. Leading into the 1960’s, all William's work kept receiving poor reviews. While Williams may not have had the absolute best career with its ups and downs, his later life was also lacking luster with some excitement sprinkled in. Unfortunately for Williams, his later life was a drug-induced family splitting mess. A lot of recognition and appreciation for William's work came after his career had
